Work With Us

"Lansons is unique in that there are so many opportunities to get involved with clubs, groups and activities outside of client work, with senior colleagues encouraging you to do try out new ideas. In my time here I have been able to put together a football team, organise our annual staff parties and join the Culture Club" - Robbie

"Lansons has always committed to supporting an annual charity and donating 1% of our profits to it. There is a lot of opportunity for staff to get involved. From joining our peer-led charity committee who run events throughout the year to participating in the annual Christmas Fair, where friends of Lansons enjoy an evening of festivities" - Leonie

There are other reasons Lansons is special, beyond the exceptional work we do. We are the only true employee-owned business in the communications industry, with more than a third of our people owning the agency as partners.

We love helping our staff achieve their potential, which is why we invest so much in professional development. The interest we take in the career progression of our employees is reflected in the fact that a third of our directors started here as junior executives, including five of our board directors and four associates. Over a third of our people have been with us for more than five years – and more than a fifth of our people for more than ten.

We care about being a responsible corporate citizen and this resonates with our staff. We commit 1% of profits to charity, run a ‘green’ environmental policy and have established an award-winning pro-bono partnership with the theatre production charity HighTide.  We were ranked 15th in the UK’s Top 50 Medium Size Workplaces by the Great Place to Work® Institute and featured in the Top 50 for twelve years running.  We took the top spot in PR Week’s Best Places to Work in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and bronze in the large agency category in 2017.  We believe we’ve built a special culture that blends a lively and diverse consultancy environment with a serious, roll-up your sleeves work ethic that puts clients and high value results first.

Current Opportunities

Junior Executive

Our entry role is called junior executive.  It’s a responsible, fast-paced support role and you would be working as an integral member of client teams, responsible for the administration and smooth running of our client programmes along with supporting on initiatives at Lansons. We are looking for Lansons consultants of the future – supporting the careers of our junior executives is of supreme importance to us. In this role you will learn important skills, both through specific training and through your day to day work.

Your future at Lansons

We support, train and nurture our junior executives hoping they become our leaders of the future.  Many of our current board directors started their career at Lansons in the junior role as did a third of our people at account director level and above. In addition, many of our partners started as junior executives.  We passionately believe in supporting career progression and we have a ‘promote first’ philosophy whenever we look to recruit new talent.  Juniors have appraisals every three months to help support progress and allow for consistent focus on career development.  You will be allocated a career manager to help you identify and achieve your career goals and they will support with your appraisals. You will also have a buddy to help you settle in to the agency.

The specifics of the role

A minimum of three months total experience would help equip you for the role and allow you to start with confidence.  This could have been gained from work experience, placements or internship roles, or working in a junior communications role. This does not have to be a solid period of experience. We know that work in the PR and communications industry is often unpaid, but we also know that work and experiences of all kinds, and the transferable skills these grant, are essential.

Most of the junior executive role is focused on client work across the many communications disciplines we work across. The client portfolio for a junior executive can be extremely broad, permitting a variety of learning opportunities. As a junior executive you will also be expected to support on various Lansons initiatives and will also have time allocated to your professional development (e.g. attending training sessions within Lansons).
