Lansons develops nation brand for the Cayman Islands

14 Jul 2022

Lansons were appointed in 2020 by the Cayman Islands Government to develop a new nation brand to build and enhance the reputation of the Cayman Islands around the world.

Working with the then Ministry for International Trade, investment, Aviation and Maritime Affairs Chief Officer and Global Communications team, Lansons developed a new nation brand – Cayman Is… - to challenge current, but outdated perceptions of the Cayman Islands, with an invitation for the world to look again and discover the real Cayman Islands.

The new nation brand was unveiled at Dubai Expo in 2022.

The project benefitted from the contributions of 85 representatives of the country’s public and private sectors, culture and Cayman life. Overlaid with an extensive communications and international media audit, this insight informed the creation of a brand strategy and core value proposition, and the new Cayman nation brand was born.

Lansons’ creative team went on to develop a full suite of brand assets, image library, style guide, brand film, and supporting narrative, all housed in an online brand hub.

As recognition of the brand’s success, Cayman IS was shortlisted at the Cayman Islands Marketing Professionals Awards (CIMPA) in June 2022.

“Small countries have to fight to utilise their strengths and soft power to succeed in today’s world and, together with Cayman Islands government, we believe we have developed a platform to enable the country to put its best foot forward. We’re excited to see how this asset is embraced and utilised by Cayman over the next few years”
