Train a diverse network of local branch managers, in a cost effective and controlled way
Handelsbanken wanted to equip its regional branch managers with a range of tools and techniques on how to deal with the media and local business groups, and deliver Handelsbanken’s messages effectively.
The bank wanted to capture the knowledge and expertise offered by Lansons’ media coaching team in a format that could be easily accessed by a wide number of branch bank managers across the country.
Working closely with the Handelsbanken’s in-house team, Lansons Live advised producing a film version of our media coaching sessions that could be stored on Handelsbanken’s intranet.
Handelsbanken has a unique decentralised banking structure and the objective was to reflect this in the film by using Handelsbanken’s own people to communicate with the rest of the organisation.
Two regional branch managers were filmed undergoing media coaching and a former BBC business presenter was brought in to host the film.
The film was divided into four chapters: Introduction – Preparing for interviews – Telling the Handelsbanken story – Handling difficult questions, allowing viewers to either follow the session in full or click on specific areas of interest.
The response to the film was hugely positive. It has been widely accessed by the bank’s branch managers who have found it an invaluable tool.
In addition, it has helped the internal PR and communications team forge stronger relationships with managers across the branch network.
